Meet the September Newest Talents of UV Medico's Team

Written by Yiwen Wang | 10 Sep, 2024

We are excited to welcome three new faces to our R&D team and Commercial team at UV Medico. These talented individuals bring passion for technology innovation and experience for business operation that will help UV Medico go further on applying Far-UVC solutions to safeguard human health across sectors.

Laser Researcher Between University and UV Medico

Jacob Christian has joined our Research and Development Team, dedicated to exploring the wavelength boundaries of frequency conversion on a state-of-the-art photonic chip platform. His work is anticipated to lead to groundbreaking innovations in the field of Far-UVC technology.

“The work I get to do at UV Medico is a perfect combination of scientific research and solving real-life problems.

At our laser lab, Jakob is conducting research in collaboration with Aarhus University as the last part of his master’s degree in physics. From 2021, UV Medico has been collaborating with top universities and welcoming the best academic talents to join the R&D team in developing state-of-the-art Far-UVC technology and its real-life applications. We are committed to fostering collaboration with academic institutions to advance research in Far-UVC technology and to integrating with leading academic talent.

Outside The Lab

When Jakob is not in the lab, he likes to spend time cooking and visiting his family and friends. He also enjoys walking and audiobooks, which is often a part of his everyday life. Whenever possible, he always allocates time to walking as the primary transportation.

By the way, Jakob is a huge fan of soups, especially during the summertime.

A new force in Quality Assurance

As the newest student assistant, Isabela Coelho works in quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Her focus will be to ensure that UV Medico’s product manufacturing processes not only adhere to but exceed the requisite standards. This undertaking is crucial to guarantee the effectiveness and security of Far-UVC technology, which is essential for combating pathogens and enhancing human safety in various healthcare and industry settings.

Human-safety Advocate Meets UV Medico on Campus

Isabela encountered UV Medico at the P-Day organized by Aarhus University. During the event, our Leading Scientist Peter Tønning, and Quality Assurance Manager Cecilie Jeppesen introduced her to Far-UVC technology and our UV222 products. UV Medico's mission of keeping people safe with Far-UVC solutions for decontamination resonates with Isabela's passion and background in healthcare.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Isabela worked as a nurse, taking care of children with physical and mental disabilities, thus seeing firsthand their hard time with compromised immune systems.

“Many of the children I took care of were highly vulnerable and required additional isolation. The products developed by UV Medico are exactly what I needed at the time, to help protect these vulnerable children from long recoveries and hospitalizations.”

Beyond the Desk

Outside of work and study, Isabela enjoys being creative, whether she’s knitting, making desserts like tiramisu and chocolates, or tackling DIY projects like upcycling furniture and building a laundry sorting unit. Although she says she’s not the handiest, her projects are holding up—fingers crossed! To stay active, Isabela does strength training and hikes, saving most of her hiking for vacations abroad as Denmark is too flat.

Finance professional with over 30 years' experience

At the forefront of our commercial team, Tina Toft anchors her position as bookkeeper with a focus on ensuring financial precision and accountability. Entrusted with the pivotal responsibilities of managing both financial statements and payroll, her role is instrumental in maintaining the fiscal integrity of UV Medico, UV Laser, and UV Holding. This task demands a high level of expertise and experience that Tina possesses in abundance, thanks to her extensive experience spanning over 30 years in finance.

Her engagement with UV Medico stems from a mutual alignment of values: a shared passion for innovation and the readiness to tackle contemporary challenges in the technology sector. Tina's professional trajectory, marked by significant roles such as Financial Controller, Finance Manager, and even ERP consultant, has equipped her with a unique blend of skills. These skills enable her to navigate complex financial landscapes with agility, bolstering UV Medico's mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions in various industries.

Dynamic Personality Beyond Numbers

Beyond her professional acumen, Tina's personality adds a rich layer of depth to our team. Outside of work, she enjoys watching series and films, listening to audiobooks, and visiting museums. Furthermore, Tina pays much attention to physical well-being through regular gym workouts and yoga at home.

It may surprise you that Tina often sings very loudly in the car when she is alone.

Thanks to Jakob, Isabela, and Tina, their respective roles in research, quality assurance, and finance control bring invaluable assets for UV Medico in advancing our pioneering efforts towards Far-UVC technology. We welcome their expertise and look forward to their contributions in our continued stride towards excellence.
